Free Drop-In craft workshops for families with
children aged 5yrs +
Using our Shipwreck Exhibition as inspiration we are taking the sea and seaside as our theme this summer. There will be drop -in sessions on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings, two one hour sessions each time.
Week 1 Monday 28th July ( 1-2pm & 2-3pm) and Thursday 31st July 10am – 11am & 11am – midday
MINI BOATS
Design and make a mini-boat using recycled materials and create your own figure head, maybe it will be a mermaid, a dolphin or even a Helston dragon!
Week 2 Monday 4th August ( 1-2pm & 2-3pm) and Thursday 7th August 10am – 11am & 11am – midday
UNDERSEA GROTTO
Let your imagination run free and design your own underwater grotto full of wonderful underwater creatures and treasure.
Week 3 Monday 11th August ( 1-2pm & 2-3pm) and Thursday 14th August 10am – 11am & 11am – midday
MARINE MOBILES
Seahorses, octopuses and fish can dance and weave in the breeze when you create your own min mobile to decorate your home.
Week 4 Monday 18th August ( 1-2pm & 2-3pm) and Thursday 21st August 10am – 11am & 11am – midday
SEA SCENES – ABOVE & BELOW
Be inspired by the magnificent beaches in Cornwall and design your own beach scene then explore what lies beneath to make a picture of the water world below.
Week 5 Monday 25th August ( 1-2pm & 2-3pm) and Thursday 28th August 10am – 11am & 11am – midday
NAUTICAL PEGS
Come and make your own peg persona inspired by the sea. It may be a person connected to the sea or a sea creature of something of your own imagining.
Recommended for families with children aged 5yrs+
All materials will be supplied and we endeavour to repurpose and reuse materials as much as we can to try to cut down on waste and bring new life to things we normally throw away.
Drop-In session, no booking required . Places allocated on a first come, first served basis.
