Reboot Cornwall: Experience Culture from the Edge

As we reopen to the public, we are proud to be part of Reboot Cornwall, a new initiative from Cornwall Museums Partnership designed to celebrate the bold, creative and forward-thinking nature of the region’s 70+ museums. The initiative invites you back to experience Cornish culture and history in a whole new way, through a range of tech-driven experiences, from mind-bending augmented reality to immersive cinematic experiences.

At the museum we have created a pop-up 3D costume trail – a playful way to look closer at the significance of clothing in history. You can use your phone to take a unique look at clothing and costume. There are posters located around the museum, each with a QR code. Scan the code with the camera on your phone. Follow the link to find out more about Cornish clothing and the heritage of each artefact.

Use one finger to rotate the item of clothing and two to magnify it, allowing you to examine each item of clothing in minute detail. You’ll be able to see items of costume that are too delicate to display in extreme close up, and examine the parts of the costume usually hidden from view. You can find out how we worked with Purpose 3D to capture the collection in 3D
