Kids in Museums Takeover Day 2020
To celebrate Kids in Museums Takeover Day 2020, we asked two of our young volunteers, Evie and Ellie to reflect on their favourite photographs from the museum’s collection.

Evie says: “I have chosen this image because I love to see the different outfits that the children are wearing compared to today’s flora day outfits. For example, we don’t wear hats now and the boy’s outfits are more informal. Also the people watching have a much different style to the modern fashion.”

Ellie says: “As I walked home from school, I thought to myself, what would my home town look like in one hundred years from now? My mind started to drift off to all the possibilities of what could happen to the high street of Helston. It might not even be here, it could be a large factory, it might look the same with just a bit of upgrading… The noise of a horse and carriage brought me back to my world, the one where the high street shops are open, the market stalls are on the side of the street people walking up the street to get their shopping done early, children playing football ,horse and carriages. It is great here, and I don’t want it to change.”
