Museum of Cornish Life: Assistant Museum Curator Summer Internship (6 weeks)
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team as an Intern Assistant Museum Curator over the summer. Working with a small staff team (Director, Community Engagement Curator and Assistant Museum Curator) and over 80 volunteers you will get to experience all aspects of the Assistant Museum Curator role. The focus of the role will be caring for the collection, developing exhibitions, events and sharing the collection digitally.

Summary
- Salary: £7.83 per hour (dependent on age will be based on current living wage)
- Working week: 37.5 hours per week (including 2 Saturdays in 4)
- Intern Duration: 22 July to 30 August 6 weeks (with possible 2 week extension depending on interns commitments)
- Responsible to: Director
Duties
- Researching collections, producing interpretation and enquiries
- Assisting with the setup/take down/delivery of events and activities
- Responding to the daily needs of a busy museum
Skills
- Excellent IT skills including use of Word, Excel and Social Media
- Good at multi-tasking
- Really good at getting on with all types of people
- Enjoy learning new things
- Tidy and organised worker
- An interest in communicating ideas/stories to the public
